Connect Your Fitbit to FeelTrack: See How Sleep and Activity Shape Your Mood

You track your steps, your sleep, your heart rate. But do you know how those numbers connect to how you feel? FeelTrack now works with Fitbit — connect your Fitbit tracker or smartwatch and start seeing the relationship between your body’s data and your emotional patterns.

Why Fitbit + FeelTrack

Fitbit products capture an incredible depth of health data every day — sleep stages, resting heart rate, HRV, SpO2, breathing rate, steps, and active minutes. FeelTrack captures the other half of the picture: your emotions, reflections, and mood patterns.

Together, they answer questions like:

  • Does poor sleep actually make your mood worse — and by how much?
  • Do days with higher step counts correlate with better emotional well-being?
  • Is your heart rate variability a leading indicator of your mood the next day?

These aren’t hypothetical questions anymore. With both data streams connected, FeelTrack’s correlation engine computes the actual statistical relationships in your data.

What Data We Connect

When you connect your Fitbit tracker or smartwatch, FeelTrack pulls these metrics daily:

Sleep

  • Sleep stages — deep, light, REM, and wake periods at 30-second granularity
  • Sleep duration — total time asleep
  • Sleep efficiency — percentage of time in bed actually sleeping
  • Sleep score — Fitbit’s composite sleep quality metric

Activity

  • Steps — daily step count
  • Active minutes — fairly active + very active minutes
  • Calories burned — total daily energy expenditure
  • Distance — total distance covered
  • Floors climbed — elevation changes throughout the day

Body & Vitals

  • Resting heart rate — your baseline cardiovascular fitness indicator
  • Heart rate variability (HRV) — a key marker of stress and recovery
  • SpO2 — blood oxygen saturation levels
  • Breathing rate — respiratory rate during sleep

The Health Dataroom

All your Fitbit data flows into the Health Dataroom — a dedicated analytics space designed to surface patterns between your physical health and emotional state.

The Sleep tab shows your sleep stages alongside your mood check-ins from the following day. The Correlations tab computes Pearson correlations between every health metric and your mood scores. The Timeline tab weaves together health events and emotional check-ins into a single chronological view.

After two weeks of connected data, FeelTrack starts surfacing insights like:

  • “Your positive affect score is 22% higher after nights with 7+ hours of sleep”
  • “Days with 8,000+ steps show consistently higher mood scores”
  • “Your HRV dips tend to precede lower-mood days by 24 hours”

How to Connect

It takes about 30 seconds:

  1. Go to Settings > Health Integrations
  2. Click Connect next to Fitbit
  3. Sign in to your Fitbit account and authorize FeelTrack
  4. Your recent data starts flowing in automatically

FeelTrack requests read-only access — we never write to your Fitbit account or modify any of your data.

Privacy and Security

Your Fitbit data flows directly from Fitbit’s servers to FeelTrack using OAuth 2.0 with encrypted token exchange. No third-party aggregators, no middleware, no data brokers.

We store only the health metrics needed for mood correlation. We don’t access your Fitbit social features, friends list, or GPS routes. You can disconnect at any time from the integrations page, and all synced data is permanently deleted.

Works With All Fitbit Products

This integration works with any Fitbit product that syncs to the Fitbit app — including Fitbit Sense, Fitbit Versa, Fitbit Charge, Fitbit Inspire, Fitbit Luxe, and Fitbit Ace. If your data is in the Fitbit app, FeelTrack can connect to it.

Part of a Bigger Picture

Fitbit joins Strava as our second live health integration, with Oura, Whoop, Withings, and Garmin coming next. Each integration adds another dimension to your mood-health picture. Sleep quality from Fitbit, workout intensity from Strava, recovery scores from Whoop — the more you connect, the richer your insights become.

Get Started

If you’re a FeelTrack user with a Fitbit tracker or smartwatch, head to your integrations page and connect now. If you’re new, start your free 30-day trial — your Fitbit data will be waiting.

Because the best mood insights come from understanding the full picture — not just how you feel, but what your body was doing when you felt that way.

FeelTrack works with Fitbit. All data transfers use OAuth 2.0 with encrypted tokens. No third-party services are involved. Fitbit is a trademark of Fitbit LLC.
